Immediate Steps to Take

  Stay Calm and Check for Injuries

  Take a deep breath. Ensure everyone is safe. If anyone is injured or you're unsure, call 911 immediately.

• 2.
  Move to Safety

  If possible and safe to do so, move vehicles out of traffic to prevent further accidents.

• 3.
  Don't Admit Fault

  Do not discuss the incident with other parties or admit fault. Stick to exchanging information only.

• 4.
  Exchange Information

  Collect from all parties involved:

  • • Full names, addresses, and phone numbers
  • • Driver's license numbers
  • • Vehicle registration and ownership documents
  • • Insurance company names and policy numbers
• 5.
  Document Everything

  Take photos and notes of:

  • • All vehicle damage from multiple angles
  • • The accident scene, including road conditions and traffic signs
  • • License plates of all vehicles involved
  • • Date, time, location, weather, and road conditions
• 6.
  Get Witness Information

  If there are witnesses, collect their names and contact information. Their statements may be valuable.

• 7.
  Contact Police if Required

  If police attend, note the officer's name and badge number. Get the police report number for your records.

• 8.
  Report to Your Broker Within 48-72 Hours

  Contact Rocket Insurance as soon as possible, even if you're unsure about filing a claim. We're here to help guide you through the process.

• 9.
  Don't Authorize Repairs Yet

  Wait for your insurer to inspect the damage before authorizing repairs (except those needed to prevent further damage).
